Workshop with Paola Madrid

Paola Madrid was born in 1989 in Hermosillo, México. She started dancing mexican folk dance and jazz. She continued her education in contemporary dance with Isaac Chau and Miguel Mancillas including ballet with Ángeles Martínez y Zyfryd Rzysko. From 2007-2011 she studied and graduated at the Professional School of Dance of Mazatlan.

She has been performed and collaborated with several choreographers in México and Belgium as well as created her own works as “Trayectos” and “A rose full of gardens” piece supported by the Fonca-Conacyt (2012). 

Her work as a dance maker and teacher has been thoroughly influenced by artists such as David Zambrano, Julyen Hamilton, Les Slovaks dance collective and enriched by the practice of Aikido as a Japanese Martial Art.

Paola continues to research and develop her own work as a performer; teaching workshops and dance classes in México and Belgium.
